The connection matters

AN fittings,
made easier.

Hose ends, adapters and plumbing parts. Narrow the catalog by size, angle and connection before you choose your part.

Start with the part

Build your connection.

Choose a category, then dial in the details.

Simple Search

Find the fitting. Finish the line.

Look up AN fittings, hose ends, adapters and PTFE hose with a partial part number or a few words. Refine each connection by AN or ORB size, NPT or metric thread, angle and finish. Compare photos and prices, then add the selected part straight to your cart.

Confirm the hose family and sealing style on the product page. AN flare, ORB and NPT are separate connections.

A better starting point

Get the connection right.

A few details make a big difference at the workbench.

01OD, ID & nominal size

Tube OD is its outside diameter. Hose and coupler ID is the inside diameter. Pipe and thread sizes use their own naming conventions. Match the measurement type as well as the number.

02AN, ORB & NPT

Check the product’s stated thread and seal: AN/JIC flare fittings, O-ring boss ports and tapered pipe threads make their seal differently. Match both ends of an adapter, including male or female.

03Hose & hose ends

Choose a hose end made for the hose family you are using. PTFE, rubber-lined, push-lock and other hose systems are not automatically interchangeable. Check fluid, pressure and temperature ratings on the product.

04Bends & fabrication space

Diameter is one dimension. Compare bend angle, centerline radius, leg length and material where specified. For clamps and couplings, check the matching flange or ferrule profile too.

AN plumbing guide

How to choose AN fittings, hose ends and adapters.

Use the finder above to narrow real catalog parts, then use these checks to confirm the connection at both ends. Dash size is only one part of a safe, leak-free plumbing plan.

What does AN dash size mean?

AN dash sizes are based on sixteenths of an inch: -6AN corresponds to 6/16, or 3/8 inch, as a nominal tube outside diameter reference. Hose inside diameter can vary by hose family, so confirm the hose and hose-end specifications together.

Are AN and JIC fittings the same?

AN and JIC commonly use a 37-degree flare geometry, but materials, tolerances and pressure ratings may differ. Match the listed standard and application instead of assuming every 37-degree fitting is interchangeable.

AN, ORB or NPT—which seal do I have?

AN/JIC seals at the flare, ORB seals with an O-ring at the port, and NPT seals on tapered pipe threads. A correct adapter must match the thread, gender and sealing method on both ends.

Do AN fittings need thread sealant?

The AN flare is the sealing surface, so sealant is not normally applied to that flare. Tapered NPT threads may require a fluid-compatible sealant. Follow the fitting, hose and system manufacturer’s instructions.

Can any hose end fit the same-size hose?

No. PTFE, rubber-lined braided hose, push-lock and other hose systems use different constructions and matching ends. Verify hose family, fluid compatibility, pressure range and temperature range before assembly.

How do I choose a fitting angle?

Use the angle that routes the hose without a tight bend, twist or contact with heat and moving parts. Compare 0, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 180-degree ends only after measuring the installed direction and service space.
